Spring Weddings at Clayfield Farm
Spring on a farm is a beautiful time of year - lambs jumping in the fields, the hedgerows beginning to look full again and longer days mean more time to enjoy nature.
Spring is also the time we reopen Clayfield Farm for wedding bookings after a winter’s rest, so it’s a new chapter for the Venue too. We might be biased, but we think that spring is a perfect season to host your wedding in Yorkshire.
Natural Light - A Photographer’s Dream
Our beautiful Venue is a sunshine-filled dream of a room with natural light flooding in through the glass walls, your photographers will be in heaven! With views of the Yorkshire countryside and Clayfield courtyard, everywhere you look is beautiful. Spring is such a beautiful time of year for this too - the fields are starting to turn green again, the sun lasts longer and the evenings start to feel full of possibility.
Cosy Evenings & Frosty Mornings
Speaking of evenings, after a winter of hunkering down in front of the fire, why not bring the fire outside with our firepits? Toast marshmallows, snuggle up in a blanket and enjoy a glass of wine or a dram of whisky by the flames - there’s nothing more romantic or atmospheric! Plus it’ll keep you warm when the temperatures inevitably drop!
Even when Spring doesn’t deliver on double digit temperatures, Clayfield Farm looks stunning. Frost covered fields glistening in the morning sun, or even covered in a blanket of snow are just idyllic, and completely unique for your photos! Just remind your guests to bring some layers if they intend on being outside!
Onsite Accommodation
Let’s be honest too, no one wants to travel too far in Spring. We’ve just spent the winter at home, resting and refreshing ourselves for the year ahead, so why not make the most of this and book a venue with on site accommodation for your guests? At Clayfield, we have cottages, a Farmhouse and shepherds huts that sleep 30 guests and are available for the night before and the night of your wedding. You can even extend your stay by another night to really make a weekend of it - Easter wedding anyone?
Embrace seasonal colours
One of the loveliest things about a Spring wedding is the colour palettes. With so many flowers coming into bloom, we love to see couples that have really leant into the seasonal colours. Blush pinks, sage greens, pale blues and plenty of foliage signal spring is here - and if you stick to using seasonal British flowers then you’re cutting down on your floral miles too! We can always recommend excellent florists who know Clayfield Farm and understand exactly what is required (and what isn’t!) to lift the venue and make the most of seasonal palettes.
