How to Spend the Day After Your Wedding at Clayfield Farm
Your wedding day will go by in a joyful blur. One moment you are walking down the aisle, the next you are on the dancefloor, and before you know it, it is over.
That is why we always encourage our couples to think beyond just one day. At Clayfield Farm, accommodation for up to 14 guests in The Farmhouse is included with every wedding booking, and up to 12 additional guests can stay onsite in our cottages. When your nearest and dearest have travelled miles to celebrate with you, why not make a full weekend of it?
Here are a few ways to enjoy the day after your wedding in the Yorkshire countryside.

A Relaxed Grazing Brunch
There is something rather lovely about gathering everyone together again the next morning, slightly sleepy and still smiling, reliving favourite moments from the night before.
We can arrange a beautifully styled grazing platter brunch, perfect for sharing around the farmhouse table or in the venue room. Think pastries, fresh fruit, cheeses, cured meats and good coffee. If you prefer something simpler, a continental brunch can also be supplied by us.
No rushing out for supermarket supplies. No clearing up or dirty dishes. Just a slow, sociable morning to start your married life.
Garden Games at The Farmhouse
Your wedding day itself can feel wonderfully full, so why not save the fun and games for the next day?
The garden at The Farmhouse, included in every wedding booking, is the perfect setting for a relaxed afternoon outdoors. Bring out the giant Connect 4, set up a beanbag throwing competition, organise sack races or an egg and spoon race, or see who can master the limbo. It is informal, light-hearted and a lovely way to spend proper time with your guests, especially those you may only have managed a quick hug with on the wedding day itself.
If you would like to elevate things slightly, we can also recommend local supplier Hitched & Pitched, who offer a fantastic 9 hole crazy golf course for hire. It works beautifully in the garden setting and is always a hit with guests of all ages. A little friendly competition the day after the wedding often becomes a highlight in its own right.
A Laid Back BBQ
If you would prefer something heartier, there is a BBQ in the garden of The Farmhouse ready to use.
You are very welcome to take charge yourselves for a casual, help yourself feast. Alternatively, if you would rather continue the celebrations without lifting a finger, just let us know and we can arrange for it to be taken care of for you.
There is something wonderfully relaxed about standing in the sunshine with a plate in hand, chatting through the highlights of the day before.

Space to Simply Be Together
Not every post wedding gathering needs structure. Sometimes the most special moments come from doing very little at all.
A walk across the fields, coffee on the patio, children running on the lawn, or a soak in the hot tub at The Farmhouse. These are the moments where conversations happen properly and stories from the night before are retold with laughter.
When everyone is staying onsite, there is no rush, no taxis to organise and no need to watch the clock.
Make It a Full Wedding Weekend
As accommodation for 14 guests is already included, with the option to book space for up to 12 more onsite, many couples choose to add an extra night and truly settle in. With no time frames, a relaxed vibe and the farm all to yourself, we love how couples use this extra day.
When everyone has travelled to be with you, it feels a shame to say your goodbyes over coffee the very next morning. An additional night allows the celebration to wind down naturally rather than stopping suddenly. There is time for proper conversations, shared meals, countryside walks and one last evening together as newlyweds.
Instead of your wedding feeling like a single day, it becomes a weekend. A gentle unfolding of celebration, connection and time well spent with the people who matter most.
At Clayfield Farm, we believe those slower, more relaxed moments can be just as meaningful as the big ones. We would love to help you make the very most of them.
