Clayfield Farm is in a peaceful semi rural location 1 mile from the busy Market Town of Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire. An ideal place to relax and unwind whether you stay for 2 nights or 2 weeks!

Situated on the foothills of the Yorkshire Wolds in the East Riding of Yorkshire (13 miles East of York and 22 miles North West of Hull). Pocklington is along the A1079, the main road from York to Hull. The nearest main line train station is York, with direct trains from all major cities around the UK.

Activities around the farm

Walking

This is a great spot to be based to explore Pocklington and the surrounding areas of the East Riding and North Yorkshire. You can walk to nearby villages using local footpaths, hiking trails & the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Enjoy a 9 mile walk along Pocklington’s canal towpath. Renowned artist David Hockney sought inspiration for his Art work from the Yorkshire Wolds.

Cycling

A network of cycle routes is close by. Why not explore the Way of the Roses cycling route or just head out and about in our beautiful countryside, getting a little exercise and fresh air along the many quiet tracks we have near here. There is a popular circular Route from Pocklington (via Millington, Huggate, Warter Wold, Warter, Nunburnholme and Burnby) with a length 18 miles.

Pocklington Town

Our peaceful location is a mile from Pocklington along a Private Road. Pocklington town centre has some very popular pubs, cafes and restaurants. You are sure to find something to suit the whole family, from traditional public houses, to modern bars and bistros.

The Market Square houses Banks, a main post office, local shops, supermarkets and an Arts Centre with Cinema. Market day in the town centre is on a Tuesday.

Close to the coast

The coastal towns of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are 30 miles away and can be reached in 45 minutes.

Scarborough is an extremely popular coastal destination with all of the classing seaside town attractions.

Whitby, with its popular Abbey, plays host to several events throughout the year. It is well known as the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula!

Bridlington is the quieter of the three, and an ideal spot for some fish & chips in the sun!

York

The extremely popular tourist city of York is only a 20 minute drive from Pocklington.

York has a wealth of attractions and activities to suit all ages and interests. From the impressive Minster and other historic sites, to the Dungeon and Viking Centre, there is plenty to keep the family occupied!

There is also a fantastic range of cafes, bars, traditional pubs and restaurants. York is famous for its independent food scene.
