Clayfield Hog & Lamb Roasts – Home of ‘The Sussex Party Pig’

We use our own free range, rare breed or rare breed cross Pigs for all our Hog roasts so they have beautiful flavour and a good amount of fat which is needed to keep the meat moist during it’s cooking time. The Pig we use will be around 55-60kg and will feed up to 120 people.

All our lamb is also our own grass finished, tasty and succulent. The lamb we use will be around 6 months old and weigh approximately 20 (+)kg which will feed up to 60 people.

We use professional, stainless steel, gas, hog roast machines for both the Hogs and Lambs. John and I will personally cook the Hog or Lamb either on site or cook it off site and transport the Hog in it’s machine to your venue ready to carve. We both hold a Food & Hygiene Level 2 Certificate and will stay and serve your guests with the meat and either bread rolls or salad if the addition is required.

The Big Event:

If your catering requirements are more extensive and you require more than the Hog roast and salad please give us a call as we are linked to our family outdoor catering company ‘The Crown Catering Co’ (  www.crown-catering-sussex.co.uk ) run by Penny and her husband James Middleton-Burn who is the Chef at the Pub they run and own. They can provide a wide variety of foods from canapes and buffets to your own tailor made sit down menu. They can also provide a licensed bar.

All their food is sourced locally where possible and everything will be freshly made and prepared by James and his team. Waiters and Waitresses are also supplied if needed.

If you want to go that extra mile to entertain your guests we can also arrange a DJ. Not a family member this time but a friend of ours who has been DJing for several years. If you have a particular musical preference  let us know and I am sure he will be happy to help.

I am also a Photographer in my spare time! I will be happy to photograph at your event at no extra cost. Don’t worry, the food will be taken care of, leaving me to concentrate on getting some great photos of you and your friends or colleagues throughout your event  and catching some memorable moments. I have a very unobtrusive, reportage style but am always happy to do the odd group shot!

All the photos will be put on my website at www.abatjourphotography.co.uk where you will be able to purchase prints and various other products online including a disc of all the photos as full res jpegs.

Please Note: Complimentary Photography will only be available for The Big Event option (when booked through us) but does not need to include the DJ. Photography for smaller events that only require the Clayfield Hog Roast can still be arranged at an additional charge of £50.00 for the duration of the Hog roast or contact me directly at johawes@abatjourphotography.co.uk for a quote more specific to your requirements.
